The ISLAMIC CENTER OF NORTHEAST LOUISIANA MONROE started with a group of international students with a group of international students gathering to pray in an apartment near the ULM campus in the 1990 and then with more Muslim professionals moving in to Monroe an old building was purchased on old Sterlington road and turned in to a mosque in 1999 the current structure on highway 165 was completed in 2008 and the community was enriched by Muslims from different ethnic and professional backgrounds.
